Stop press!! Leatherback turtle spotted near Deal, Kent. Now, it’s not often we get leatherback reports that far east in UK seas, but Maria from Kingsdown, who spotted it, said there were lots of jellyfish about, and the turtle seemed to be swimming between the groynes, moving its head from side to side, probably on a jelly hunt.

Message from the  Marine Conservation Society

If you see a turtle, jellyfish or basking shark in UK waters, please let them  know via their website link  http://bit.ly/1iYBeqn

A very good opportunity to get children and grandchildren involved in helping to make the village more colourful and if you can take some photos before and after that would be great. Choose where you sow them, perhaps along the verge outside your house, or in your garden, or even in window boxes. Each packet covers a 2m sq area.
