The majority of residents living in Balmoral Road would prefer the woodland to simply remain a haven for the wild life that they find so rewarding to live alongside, to hear and to observe. We have KCG members who are actively campaigning against this development and would like the support of Kingsdown residents to sign an on-line Petition, which will be sent to Dover District Council.

A long-established firm of estate agents in Ashford, Hobbs Parker, has been employed to promote the proposed development of two bungalows on land in Balmoral Road.
Land Registry Title Number K813960. records that the owner, Mr D.C. West, living in Looe, Cornwall, paid £5000 for the land in 2001. In 2009, 2010 and 2011, a Kingsdown resident tried, unsuccessfully, to buy the land from Mr West to protect it from development. On each occasion, he was told the land was not for sale.
Hobbs Parker displayed the proposed development in Kingsdown Village Hall back on the 5th May. You can read details of these proposals by clicking the link below. The application has now been submitted
A planning application to build on this land has now been submitted to Dover District Council Planning Application 12/00564.
An application to build on an adjacent site in Balmoral Road, No 49, was rejected by the planners in 2011 and again on appeal in February this year. A copy of the Appeal Decision can be read by clicking the link below
Residents who attended the Hobbs Parker display were invited to complete a questionnaire, and details of their comments will appear on this page as soon as they become available. KCG will continue to keep members informed about any possible development on this land.
